Course Outline & Objectives:The 2011 Christchurch earthquake caused widespread damage to existing buildings through the Canterbury region in New Zealand. James and Domingo spent a substantial amount of time in New Zealand examining and evaluating earthquake damaged buildings, and providing repair recommendations. This presentation covers typical types of damage, and common repair approaches, with a focus on lessons learned from their time on the ground. Learning Objectives: ? Overview and comparison of quality assurance and quality control measures in the Intermountain-West and New Zealand ? Overview and comparison of the New Zealand and ACI building codes ?
