Course Name:Lien Fundamentals and Contracts
Course Outline & Objectives:This course is an overview of Utah state Lien law, and the most recent changes. It addresses how to properly file with the state construction registry to maintain lien rights. It provides a detailed overview of important deadlines and filling process. The course explains how to enforce a lien and options for collections in Utah. Knowledge of how the lien process works in Utah is a valuable tool for protecting contractors, this course provides a clear, easy to understand outline of how liens work, what they accomplish, and how best to use them. This class also explains the critical components of contracts and how to use them to keep jobs flowing smoothly and avoid law suits.

He aids in the firm?s representation of architects, engineers, general contractors, subcontractors, material suppliers, and owners. Prior to attending law school, Mr. Sundloff worked for as a project manager and landscape architect at an architecture/engineering firm in Salt Lake City. While there Mr. Sundloff frequently worked with owners, developers, design professionals, contractors, and material suppliers on retail developments in Utah and Idaho. Mr. Sundloff was involved in all aspects of the design process of a project including, initial concept and site planning, entitlements, construction documents, bidding, and construction observation. Additionally, just prior to attending law school, Mr. Sundloff worked for as a senior planner at the Utah office of a national transportation engineering and planning firm. These experiences have given Mr. Sundloff a broad understanding of the construction and development industry and an ability to recognize the interests of those entities involved in the design and construction process.
