Does my vehicle require any inspections this year?
Your annual renewal notice includes information regarding required inspections. If your renewal notice is not available the following may be of help: SAFETY INSPECTIONS: In 2018, the State of Utah removed the safety inspection requirement for most vehicles. Salvage vehicles, newly street legal ATVs, and commercial vehicles are exceptions and do require a safety inspection. For more information visit: https://dmv.utah.gov/register/inspections. EMISSION INSPECTIONS: There are 5 counties in Utah which require emissions testing: Salt Lake County, Davis County, Utah County, Weber County, and Cache County. Each county has a unique schedule, based on model year, for requiring emissions. These schedules are available at: https://dmv.utah.gov/register/inspections. UTAH MOTOR VEHICLE PORTAL: The "Renewal Information" link at https://mvp.tax.utah.gov/ is a tool that allows you to enter vehicle information (Owner Last Name, Zip, License Plate and VIN) and see what inspections are required for your vehicle this year.
