Course Outline & Objectives: INTRODUCTION TO THE 2017 NEC Course Description This 2017 National Electrical Code class is an action-packed class designed to allow active participation in the importance and use of the National Electrical Code for all users and interested parties, including, but not limited to journeyman electricians, master electricians, electrical contractors, building owners, property managers, insurance personnel, inspectors, building officials and other interested parties. Method of Presentation Laptop computer using PowerPoint slides; Document Reader, Flip charts; Whiteboard; Lecture, practical illustrations, calculations and written problems/examples. Books which may be used include the 2017 National Electrical Code, Analysis of the 2017 National Electrical Code and others. Notepads, pens, pencils, highlighters included. Objective To provide and understanding of the 2017 National Electrical Code. This class will each the students how to properly use the 2017 NEC; how to size conductors for specific applications; how to correctly select overcurrent devices; how to correctly specify and select raceways; how to use the NEC in practical applications in the workplace.
