| Course Outline & Objectives: | In this class we will discuss the common code violations inspectors see as
contractors work through the process of construction. The focus will be to have
inspections pass with minimal corrections. We will discuss issues that arise at
Footings, Foundation, Underground Plumbing, Shear, Rough and Final
inspections. The goal is to answer questions and help the contractor understand
how the code official is looking at a project so they can be on the same page and
keep the project moving forward in a timely manner. |

| Instructor Resume: | Paul Ashton has worked for the City of Orem for 22 years. Paul began his
career as an inspector then became a plans examiner, Assistant Building Official
and is currently the Building Official. Previous to working for Orem he worked for
local framing contractors framing houses and LDS churches. Paul is a licensed
Combination Inspector with the State of Utah. He is also certified from ICC as
Building, Plumbing, Mechanical and Electrical Plans examiner and has the Fire
Inspector II certification. Paul graduated from UVU with an Associates Degree in
Construction Management. He lives in Payson Utah and has five children and three
granddaughters. |
