Course Name: | Hot Weather Concreting |
Course Outline & Objectives: | Will cover best practices and examples from projects where pre-cooling measures, moisture controls, mixture adjustments, and admixture technologies have been implemented to reduce adverse effects to the concrete under hot, drying conditions.
Upon completing this program the participant should be able to:
1. Identify when hot weather conditions may be occurring.
2. Review the specification as to what is required.
3. Learn how to control slump loss in hot weather
4. Adjust the mix as required for hot weather.
5. Testing requirement for hot Weather concrete

Mr. Kozeliski is a graduate of New Mexico State University where he earned his BS and MS in civil engineering. He is a registered professional engineer in Alabama, Texas and New Mexico.
He has extensive experience in the ready mix industry, having owned and operated Gallup Sand & Gravel. He has been active in placing and working on pervious concrete during the past 20 years, as well as using recycled glass, rubber and paper material in concrete. He currently works as a Consultant and Materials Engineer.
Mr. Kozeliski is an ACI Fellow and has been active in the ACI New Mexico Chapter since its inception. He served as Chair of ACI 211, Proportioning Concrete, and is currently a member of ACI 229, Flowable Fill; ACI 305, Hot Weather Concreting; ACI 308, Curing; ACI 330, Concrete Parking Lots; and E801, Student Activities. In addition, he stays active in several other professional organizations.
