Course Outline & Objectives:Recognition of the hazards associated with working on or around energized electrical equipment and the methods for reducing these hazards. At the end of this presentation, the student will be able to: Determine the nominal voltage of an electrical assembly. Assess the risk of shock based upon nominal voltage. Determine the personal protective equipment that you should use for preventing an electrical shock. Assess the risk of an arc flash using the information from an arc-flash warning label. Assess the risk of an arc flash using mathematical tools suggested in NFPA Standard 70E. Determine the personal protective equipment that you should use for minimizing an arc-flash injury. Identify the most common methods for reducing arcflash hazards. Accurately describe an electrically-safe work condition.
