Learning Objectives:
Millions of square feet of industrial warehouse space with interior concrete slabs-on-ground are constructed every year in the United States and across the world. Various design and construction approaches may be implemented depending on the anticipated facility service demands, but certain guidelines and performance objectives are common for most industrial slabs-on-ground applications. At the end of this presentation, the participant will be able to:
1. Identify ACI and other industry resources available related to industrial warehouse slabs-on-ground
2. Explain concrete mix characteristics critical to slabs-on-ground construction and performance
3. Understand factors related to risk of slabs-on-ground out-of-joint cracking, curling and joint performance
