Course Outline & Objectives: | This 2023 National Electrical Code class is an action-packed class designed to
allow active participation in the importance and use of the National Electrical Code
for all users and interested parties, including, but not limited to journeyman electricians,
master electricians, electrical contractors, building owners, property managers, insurance
personnel, inspectors, building officials and other interested parties.
Method of Presentation
Laptop computer using PowerPoint slides; Document Reader, Flip charts; Whiteboard;
Lecture, practical illustrations, calculations and written problems/examples. Books
which may be used include the 2023 National Electrical Code, Analysis of the 2023
National Electrical Code and others. Notepads, pens, pencils, highlighters included.

Instructor Resume: | STEVEN J. OWEN has been active in the electrical industry for over 49 years. Starting as an Apprentice Electrician; working up to Superintendent, Project Manager, Electrical Engineer, Senior Electrical Designer and CHIEF ELECTRICAL CODE ANALYST. Steve is certified as a National Electrical Code Instructor and Sponsor for (34 states ? AL, AK, AR, DE, FL, GA, IA, ID, KY, ME, MD, MI, MN, MS, MT, NE, NH, NJ, NM, NC, ND, OH, OK, OR, PA, RI, SD, TX, UT, VT, VA, WA, WI , WY and numerous cities; Steve has been sponsoring and instructing seminars for ELECTRICAL LICENSE EXAM PREPARATION for numerous states. Steve has instructed for Bessemer State Technical College of Birmingham, AL. Steve is currently the President and primary instructor for NATIONAL CODE SEMINARS (NCS).
Steve is a certified MASTER ELECTRICIAN and /or ELECTRICAL CONTRACTOR in 38 states: AK, AL, AR, CO, CT, DE, FL, GA, ID, IA, IL, KY, ME, MD, MI, MN, MO, MT, NE, NH, NM, NC, ND, OH, OK, OR, RI, SC, SD, TN, TX UT, VT, VA, WA, WV, WI & WY.
Steve is certified as an ELECTRICAL INSPECTOR by IAEI & ICC; as a LIGHTNING PROTECTION DESIGNER, INSPECTOR & JOURNEYMAN INSTALLER by LPI; CHIEF ELECTRICAL CODE ANALYST by SBCCI (ICC); MASTER ELECTRICIAN by NBEE; EIT in Arizona, and is AUTHORIZED by OSHA to provide 10 & 30 hour voluntary compliance classes for Construction and General Industry.
