Course Outline & Objectives:This workshop was created to help local contractors understand what construction site storm water is, why managing it is important, and how to manage it to comply with local, state, and federal requirements. This spring will present storm water challenges as Utah faces a nearly record setting winter. All of that water has to go somewhere, and if you are managing a job site - this training will help you stay in compliance. During the training you will meet representatives from the local and state storm water communities as well as engage in trainings focused on helping you understand the reasons behind, and requirements associated with, managing construction site storm water on your site. A light breakfast and lunch will be provided as part of the event. This workshop is brought to you by Utah State University Extension in partnership with Summit County, the East Canyon Watershed Committee, and USU's STORMnet. This training is made possible through a non-point source grant provided by the Utah Department of Environmental Quality.

Instructor Resume: Emily Bishop is the Weber River Watershed Coordinator with the Utah Department of Agriculture and Food. As a watershed coordinator, Emily uses her expertise to work with landowners in Utah's Weber River watershed to develop watershed plans, design projects implementing best management practices and coordinate outreach and education campaigns to address nonpoint source pollution and water quality issues spanning agricultural and urban landscapes. Emily works across the watershed to balance projects that respond to current water quality concerns as well as those that address anticipated environmental issues in a dynamic and rapidly developing watershed.
