| Course Outline & Objectives: | Part 1. National Electrical Code Overcurrent Protection (OCPD). Article 240; 8-HOURS; This course provides an in depth study of the National Electrical Code; application of fuses and circuit breakers used to protect conductors and equipment. Course content includes explanation of overcurrent definitions, calculations, selection, application, and maintenance of overcurrent devices. Advanced discussion of Interrupting ratings (SCCR) calculation methods using the Point-to-Point method are explained in compliance with NEC sections 110.9, 110.10, and 110.24. Students will learn to use proper NEC tables for motors and transformer OCPD selection, as well as understand where general conductor, transformer, and busway tap rules apply. Discussion will include application differences between ground-fault circuit interrupters (GFCI) and ground-fault protection for equipment (GFPE). "
