| Course Outline & Objectives: | Motors / Motor Control: This course is based on Article 430 of the National Electrical Code. The course covers sizing of circuit conductors and overcurrent protection to allow for inrush current when starting a motor across the line using tables and rules from article 430 and discusses alternative methods for motor starting, including Soft Start and the use of Variable Frequency Drives. The course then discusses basic motor control circuits including how to interpret ladder diagrams. Participants will wire up basic motor control circuits and turn motors on in a lab setting. |
